EQUINE-FACILITATED WELLNESS

A secluded, safe, and private environment where individuals from our community can experience connection, healing, and growth — guided by the presence of horses.

Forest Reverie Farm exists to offer a
different way forward. Here, horses help people slow down, reconnect with themselves, and move through life experiences in ways that traditional, clinical settings often can’t.

No riding required.

No prior horse experience needed.

Just curiosity, openness,
and a willingness

to meet the moment.

RESET. REINVIGORATE.
RESPOND TO CRISIS AT FOREST REVERIE.

WANT
TO KNOW US BETTER?

We’re so glad you found your way here. Please feel free to explore our website and learn more about our work and the reverie we lovingly share.

OUR MISSION

To provide safe spaces where individuals and groups can therapeutically encounter horses and integrate ancient equine wisdom into various wellness modalities, offering deeply curated experiences for those seeking the transformative healing and learning facilitated by horses.

PROGRAMS & EXPERIENCES

Forest Reverie Farm offers a variety of equine-facilitated programs for individuals, groups and community partners.

SOMATIC HEALING

Body-based, trauma-informed experiences that support nervous system regulation by helping the body return to a state of balance, cultivating awareness, resilience, and a deeper sense of safety through embodied connection.

GUIDED MEDITATION WITH HORSES

Meditation experiences supported by equine presence. Horses are powerful co-regulators — their hearts are significantly larger than humans’, and their presence can profoundly influence emotional and energetic states. These sessions offer space to work through stress, emotions, or life transitions alongside one of our equine specialists.

EQUINE EXPERIENTAL LEARNING

Experiential learning opportunities for individuals and groups, including team-building days, workshops, and intentional gatherings that foster awareness, communication, and connection through interactions with horses.

EQUINE ENCOUNTERS

Never been around a horse? That’s okay.

This all-encompassing horsemanship experience introduces participants to horses in a safe, approachable way — meeting each person exactly where they are in comfort, confidence, and curiosity.

WHY HORSES?

Congruence & Co-Regulation

Horses have hearts that are significantly larger than ours, and with that comes a remarkable sensitivity to rhythm and regulation. They naturally attune to changes in human breathing, heart rate, and emotional state. Simply being near a horse can help the nervous system settle, inviting a sense of calm, balance, and grounding.

Trust & Authentic Communication

Working with horses invites us into a relationship built on trust, clarity, and presence. These interactions strengthen communication skills that often ripple outward, enriching how we relate to others in our daily lives.

Deeply Sensitive Beings

As prey animals, horses are finely tuned to their surroundings. Their awareness extends beyond the physical environment to the emotional landscape around them. They perceive subtle shifts in posture, intention, and feeling, responding with an honesty that is both gentle and profound.

The Mirror Effect

Horses reflect the energy and emotions they sense, offering insight into patterns we may not yet see in ourselves. This mirroring can gently illuminate areas where care, awareness, or support may be needed.

Mindfulness & Presence

Time spent with horses naturally draws us into the present moment. Their grounded way of being encourages awareness, emotional regulation, and a deeper connection to ourselves and the world around us.

Non-Judgmental Presence

Horses meet us without labels or expectations. They do not judge emotions as right or wrong, but respond to what is true in the moment. In their presence, we are invited to show up authentically and feel accepted just as we are.

MEET OUR HORSES

Our horses are not tools — they are our partners in this work.

Our horses are at the heart of Forest Reverie Farm.
Each one brings their own presence, sensitivity, and wisdom to the work we do.
Below, you’ll meet the horses who help shape the experiences and connections shared here.

BOOBAS

Our youngest herd member, Boobas is here to start good trouble. At age 10, already a disruptor, his unfiltered attention is an experience like no other. When meeting him, his distinct and undeniable presence can be deeply felt and experienced, resulting in profound transformations. Feisty, silly, stubborn, Boobas effortlessly morphs negative energy into playful banter. Always up for a snuggle to start a session, his affectionate manner puts even those deeply afraid of horses at ease. Ready to level up in your career? Boobas is the man for the job. While he’s the very best at pinpointing where our deepest troubles may live, we know very little about Boobas’ own background. Rescued after an owner surrender, he is triple branded, meaning he came from a very big ranch originally. Early arthritis plagues Boobas, likely due to overuse at a young age, yet his spirit remains unaltered and looking to help others. Support Boobas directly here!

WAYLON

Nicknamed Mr Big, Waylon is the alpha of our herd. He’s been described as an ultimate truth teller, often revealing trauma roots far before anyone else can. Waylon is an extrovert, he loves connecting with new friends, his interaction level is very high, and when you look deep into his eyes you can’t help but absorb some of the hard taught wisdom held inside his brave, truly Mr Big, self. Born taller than his show breed standards, Waylon was brutally overworked when he was very young, leaving him crippled at 9 years old without corrective shoes, soft footing, anti inflammatory medications, supplements and alternative treatments like massage and chiropractic. We will never stop trying and finding new ways to keep Waylon happy, sound, and pain free so that he can live as long, comfortable and healthy a life as possible. To support Waylon directly, sponsor here.

JET

“Jet Joy” is a well known phrase around Forest Reverie Farm. A retired barrel racer, our handsome Appendix Quarter Horse owns his Thoroughbred blood with timely action and quick feet! Jet was surrendered by his owners in hopes he could bring his powerful healing prowess to others. After offering grandchildren bareback rides and new friends a gentle nose tap or two, Jet’s healing powers are magnified at Forest Reverie Farm. Jet is highly interactive and interested in everything around him. Reactions from Jet leave nothing to question, he is always expressive yet kind. Previously an equine therapy horse for mounted hippotherapy, Jet grew lame with the taxing rigors of physical therapy. Now he heals others just by being Jet, and as much as you may hesitate, he will win you over eventually! Help Jet live his best life, sponsor here.

LUCA

Andalusian isn’t a breed you hear about every day; Luca isn’t like any horse you might meet every day. Sci Fi fans will appreciate his medieval soul, Andalusian’s are often featured in shows like Game of Thrones and movies like Lord of the Rings. He is our tallest herd member…by quite a lot. Standing at 17.3 hands, humans had eventing trophies and dressage championships envisioned for Luca’s future, but after a suspensory ligament injury at just 7 years old, his future career options were dismally limited. Finding his true home, the healing work at Forest Reverie Farm, Luca has come into his own. As sensitive a soul one could ever hope to find, even small interactions with Luca hold great meaning. Intentional and thoughtful, Luca offers ultimate serenity while digging deep into the past. If you would like to personally support Luca, please sponsor here.
